Using Tor and Polipo on Arch with lynx

I won’t reiterate the teachings on the excellent wiki page
that Arch offers on Tor, which includes setting up Firefox, but I wanted
to use lynx, since I love command line. By default Tor won’t work as a
HTTP proxy, just as a SOCKS5 proxy, so we have to install polipo. After
that copy /etc/polipo/config.sample to /etc/polipo/config
and edit the latter to contain the following lines (just a matter of
uncommenting, really):

socksParentProxy = "localhost:9050" #make sure Tor is running
socksProxyType = socks5

Then use systemctl as root to enable and start polipo
(how to do this is left as an exercise for the reader) and test by
typing

 $ http_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:8123/ lynx check.torproject.org
